1327 - An amazing early hand knotted Persian Khamseh tribal rug

This is a really early rare Khamseh tribal rug. The use of natural dyes and the skill of the nomadic weaver have created a truly wonderful item.

This is a beautiful rug with 6 hexagonal step medallions in different colours on a midnight blue main field. Note the so-called Morghi motifs known as pecking chickens. These rugs originate in the Fars region in SW Persia
